Hi all



Whilst driving around in my vauxhaull astra, a week or so back i noticed a creaking/grinding noise when i went left around corners or at junctions, yet nothing when i went right. now it seems to happen more and more and tonight it does it whilst i was moving slowly at lights and pulling away yet it doesnt do it when i was on my way to work down an A road at 60mph.

Took it to my mates and we had the wheel off seems no sign of leakage from what we could see from the shocks, the rubber bushes looked and seemed ok, so we put wheel back on gave everywhere a good spray with the WD40 and went from there it happens when the brakes are being used aswell as not being used so i guess its not a brake problem, another friend said it sounds like the wheel bearings, question is, is he right?



hope someone can throw a lifeline my way, if it were just me using the car i wouldnt be so worried but i take my kids to school in it so im anxious about it.

Sounds like the off side (right hand) rear hub bearings - the noise increases as load transfered from side to side by cornering forces.
