Car accident

hey guys

i recently got into a car accident and the front of my car wasn't damaged that much, some stuff got moved out of place a bit and there was a small dent above the right tyre on the wing. however my airbags came out and so i've put a claim through to insurance.

the garage said that the repairs would come to over £3000 and therefore more than the current value of the car and so they classified it as a write off. They said that the major cost was the replacement of the airbags and it would come to over the value of the car.

however as we are fully comprehensive can we fight this and get the car fixed rather than have a write off? I really want to keep the car so would prefer it to get it fixed then it be classified as a write off.

I would think that if you pushed the issue you can get the car fixed but I doubt if your insurance will cover it. You might have to pay it all by yourself. Is this car really worth it?
