Default Looking for a job in the motor industry!

Hi,

I am new to this forum so would like to to say HI . At the moment I am looking to get a job in the motor industry and would like to make a career out of it. I do not have any experience in the motor industry itself but I am willing to learn and can learn quickly.

I have 10 GCSE's at grade A-C . I have a B in A level maths , C in A level business and a D in AS level Geography. I am 18 so I have been looking at apprenticeships but they seem hard to get because not many places are taking them. I have applied to places like Porsche , VW , Mercedes , Audi and so on..

Does anyone know of any alternatives to getting into one of these companies without going through the apprenticeship?

Any thoughts would be great !

Thanks !

You've probably not picked the best time to try to get into the industry, as it's struggle with the economic climate.

That said, networking on car sites like this and others may not be a bad place to start. If you can make some friends/contacts in the industry, they may be able to give you a leg up in getting into a job.

If you're interested in getting into car design, you would likely need a good engineering degree though, perhaps in mechanical engineering or maybe something more specific.

Good luck!

what specific area of the industry are you interested to work in?
you say you don't know much about the industry - then why are so interested in it?

you are at an age when the sky is the limit... if you really want to do it, I don't see what or who could stop you, except for yourself

good luck to you
