Unhappy smart car baby seat

how do I disable the passenger side air bag so I can put my granddaughter in her baby seat without buying the special smart car seat? does anyone know?

Hi there, I would also like to know the answer to this question, surely someone out there knows and not everyone could have been fooled into the 'you must by the smart baby seat' syndrome??

open the passenger door ........ then look at the side of the dash that would be against the door if it were closed ....... you will see an oval air vent in the side of the dash ......... ( not the swiveling eyeball one ....... it's lower down than that ) ... the keyhole is there ....... it may be hidden by a sticker ........ but you should be able to feel it if you rub the sticker ....... then if it is there just peel the sticker away ......... I hope that helps ......... good luck .
