Default Ford Ka 1998 - Heater only ****s cold air?

hi... i've recently brought a Ford KA 1998... and i have a problem, the heating wont work!

The ****er is fine, but all i get is cold air, even when the dials etc are all set to hot, i dont get any sense of warm air either.

So far we've replaced all the coolant in the car, detached and reattached the tube leading into the thermostat seeing it had a very small leakage. I've brought a new Thermostat if that is the problem, but dont see the point in replacing something which works!

I've also been told it could be the heater matrix which is broken?

= £££££££££££... so if you have any ideas about what is wrong with my car i'd really appreciate it!
Thanks..

Hi, have you seen the thermostat in your car ? and if so do you know that it is working ok because you have tested it? the heater ****s cold for four main reasons, 1, the thermostat has been removed, two low coolant levels, three air in the system this also make the car over heat though, and four bypassing the heater matrix hope this helps and you get it sorted.

Hi Stacey.
My daughter has exactly the same problem with her KA.
Did you get to the root of the problem?
Fritz

Hi Stacey, Your problem is common Ka's And Fiestas you will find the heater hoses both go from the engine compartment to a valve under your nearside wiper, It takes about 5 mins to change first go to your local ford dealer and by replacement valve if you tell the parts dept what your problem is they will know exactly what you need Cost about £20 Remove plastic trim below front screen nearside remove both hoses marking which one is on top unplug electical connector and withdraw reverse procedure to fit new one
Hope this helps let me Know
