Default Ford Mondeo Help!!

Hi All

We need some advice please!

Does anyone know how long a brake pipe should last on a 1995 Ford Mondeo, I do not use the car that often only probably twice a week.

Many thanks
Joanne

Cool ref:-brake pipe life

dear joanne
you don't say what type of pipe ( metal/bundy tube or flexy,ie rubber ). however in my exp, i've never known a set age. life can depend on area, ie if you livenear coast the air is known to be salty & can corrode brake pipes, both types a lot quicker than if you live inland. you or your garage/ mechanic need to inspect pipes periodically ( they are a m.o.t. item checked yearly as you well know ) . if you have further concerns, check rubber hoses/pipes for hardening & splits/cracks on outer casing, check the metal pipes for corrosion. like usual rust eating away at the pipe called pitting. hope this helps . kindest regards dj dave.
