hi princess
due to my lack of knowledge on this model, i'm relyingon my exp on other similar cars. now looking at the engine /transmission from front end ie just behind bonnet & at pass side you'll see the bell housing ( where inside it , the flywheel & clutch componenys are housed ) & just behind that , but attatched to it is the actual gearbox, now looking at the top & working your way down it's casing ( app 9'' away from bell housing ) you should see a level bung of about 1" to 1 1/4" in diameter with a internal hexagon recess in which a allen key / wrench will fit. loosen & remove this plug ( with car on level ground ). if level's ok, then oil should just trickle out slowly, if no oil comes out then top up with the specified oil , recommended in your handbook. & replace level plug / bung & re- tighten. you'll find the oils available at most good accessory shops with a tube attatched to allow easy top up. just one final tip, double check with your handbook/father/ boyfriend, whatever on location of level plug b4 removing it. best of luck love, kindest regards dj dave.

Thumbs up topping up oil in clio gearbox

hi people, i would just like to thank dj dave for his reply, i do understand what you are getting at but i do need to make it clear that i can take an engine apart and put it together without leaving bits behind, just cannot find the flipping hole in the gearbox of my renault clio 1.9d 1995, its dark and dirty and was just hoping that someone would say'' hey i know where that is'' without me having to lay over the engine when i have better things to do, like a 69 scimitar, thank you dj dave sincerely.
